About
Every career has a story, here's mine. From researching AI and machine learning to designing scalable platforms, I've always been drawn to solving complex engineering challenges. My journey has taken me across industries and continents, shaping the way I build high-performance systems built not just to scale, but to make a real impact on people's lives.
Industry Experience
I am currently a Staff Software Engineer at Perk in Barcelona, where I lead the search architecture for the Travel domain. I have driven the redesign of the Stays and Flights search engines and shaped the architectural decisions that underpin our platform at scale.
I joined Perk during its early growth phase, contributing to the formation of the engineering department and working across Flights, Trains, and Core Architecture. I also served as Squad Lead for Ground Transportation and Core Services, where I balanced technical leadership with cross-functional delivery.
Earlier in my career, at Accenture Tech Labs in Dublin, I worked as a Research Engineer prototyping NLP and AI architectures for enterprise-scale systems. Before that, at Innopharma, I developed R&D software for chemical imaging and high-precision instrumentation (NIR Spectrophotometers). My passion for problem-solving extends beyond any single industry: whether it's optimising backend systems, contributing to AI research, or delivering cross-functional solutions, I am always focused on driving both innovation and practical impact.
International Career
A decade of engineering across Norway, Ireland, and Spain.
I thrive in culturally diverse environments. Working across different countries and industries has sharpened my ability to bring a global perspective to engineering decisions, communicate clearly across disciplines, and adapt quickly to new constraints.
Research & Practical Innovation
At Verdande Technology, a spin-off from NTNU in Norway, I worked as a Research Engineer to commercialize DrillEdge™, an intelligent decision support system for automated event recognition in the Oil & Gas drilling sector.
This role required bridging AI algorithms and physical reality. I received specialist training from NTNU Drilling Engineering professors and collaborated directly with industry partners including Shell, Baker Hughes, and Hess, translating academic research into a production-grade commercial product.
During my Master's, I collaborated with the Computer Vision Center (CVC) on my thesis: "Improving pedestrian detection by background modeling", developed for Inspecta, a CVC spin-off.
The project involved adapting state-of-the-art computer vision research into functional pedestrian tracking software for high-precision industrial environments, an early lesson in making academic results work in the real world.
