My journey has taken me across industries and continents, shaping the way I build high-performance systems that don’t just scale — they make a real impact on people’s lives.

Background

I am currently a Staff Software Engineer at Perk in Barcelona, bringing over a decade of experience across industries such as Travel, Oil & Gas, Education, and Healthcare. My career has taken me to different corners of the world, working in diverse environments such as Norway, the USA, Ireland, and Spain, where I’ve contributed to innovative software solutions in both startups and global companies.

My work is rooted in designing and optimizing scalable systems that enhance performance and reliability. I lead core engineering projects at Perk, driving architectural decisions and implementing systems with Python to streamline operations for businesses worldwide. Previously, I’ve played key roles at Accenture Tech Labs in Dublin, where I focused on AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP), and at Verdande Technology in Norway, working on intelligent decision support systems for the Oil & Gas sector.

My passion for technology and problem-solving extends beyond the workplace. I frequently collaborate with international teams and thrive in culturally diverse environments, bringing a global perspective to my engineering work. Whether it’s optimizing backend systems, contributing to AI research, or delivering impactful solutions, I am always focused on driving innovation and efficiency.

Education & Research

I hold a Master’s Degree in Artificial Intelligence (120 ECTS, 2011–2013), coordinated by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC) together with the Universitat de Barcelona (UB) and Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV), where I specialized in advanced AI systems and their applications across industries.
During this period, I combined research with teaching. I collaborated with the Computer Vision Center (CVC) on pedestrian detection and tracking systems for Inspecta (a CVC spin-off), while serving as a Profesor Asociado at the Universitat de Barcelona (UB), instructing practical sessions on Data Structures.

Prior to that, I earned a Computer Science Degree (240 ECTS, 2007–2011) from the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, which laid the foundation for my expertise in software development and system architecture.

This academic path evolved into practical innovation during my time in Norway. As a Research Engineer at Verdande Technology—a spin-off of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)—I collaborated closely with the university to transform research into a commercial product. This partnership included receiving specialized training from professors in Drilling Engineering, allowing me to bridge the gap between AI algorithms and physical reality.

Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning: Experienced in developing AI models and implementing machine learning algorithms, with a particular focus on Natural Language Processing (NLP), computer vision, and multi-agent systems.

System Architecture: Skilled in defining and optimizing software architecture for scalability and maintainability, including leading large codebase migrations and refactoring projects.

Data Analysis & Feature Extraction: Adept at extracting meaningful insights from raw data through statistical analysis and machine learning techniques, enabling data-driven decision-making.
